The Faculty of Economics, Universitas Padjadjaran was established based on Government Regulation number 37 dated 18 September 1957 regarding the establishment of Universitas Padjadjaran. This regulation came into force on September 11, 1957. The Faculty of Economics, Universitas Padjadjaran originated from Merdeka University under the auspices of the Bandung Merdeka University Foundation which was founded in 1952, which in its development became Universitas Padjadjaran in 1957, with Prof. Mr. R. Iwa Kusumasumantri and Mr. Achmad Sanusi as secretary.
The Faculty of Economics has two majors, namely General Economics and Corporate Economics with a total of 486 students, consisting of 400 new students and 86 students from Universitas Merdeka. The teaching staff is 40 people who are extraordinary lecturers, because at the beginning of its establishment, Universitas Padjadjaran did not have a permanent lecturer staff.
With more than 50 years of experience, FEB UNPAD has earned its recognition as one of the best economics faculties in Indonesia, and its high achievement is reflected in the ability of the faculty to attain A accreditation from Indonesian Board of National Accreditation for all field of majors of Bachelor Program. Furthermore, to strengthen its international reputation, FEB UNPAD is also a member of AACSB International, AAPBS and ABEST 21.
As of the year 2020, FEB UNPAD consists of three departments; Accounting, Economics, and Department of Management and Business. Currently total permanent lecturers in FEB UNPAD is 145, and most of them have had or have been taking Doctorate Degree and more than 10 percent of them are professors. The campus is strategically located nearby the city centre of Bandung, Indonesia. As a going world class university, the facilities have been developed to provide students with a comfortable, pleasant and convenient study environment. Classes are equiped with air-conditioners and extensive learning equipments, 4 (four) libraries, sport centre, and student caffe. Online learning environment in this faculty is sup- ported by easily access wifi connection, with free access to online journals such as Proquest and EBSCO and provide.
