Bandung, August 13, 2026 – The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Padjadjaran (FEB Unpad) officially welcomed 1,186 new students for the 2026/2027 academic year during the New Student Welcoming Ceremony (PMB) held at the Grha Sanusi Hardjadinata Unpad building on Thursday (August 13).
These new students comprises 885 undergraduates (Bachelor’s/S1), 262 master’s and professional program students (S2), and 39 doctoral students (S3). At the undergraduate level, the Management Study Program admitted the highest number of students with 208, followed by Accounting (194), Islamic Economics (169), Economics (162), and Digital Business (152).
In his remarks, the Dean of FEB Unpad encouraged new students to use their time at the university not only to pursue academic excellence but also to build character, integrity, and critical thinking skills.
“The important question is not whether you will reach graduation day, but rather what kind of person you will become when you graduate,” the Dean stated.
The Dean also emphasized FEB Unpad’s commitment to providing education that keeps pace with the times by strengthening impactful research, digitalization, sustainability (ESG), and the integration of artificial intelligence into the learning process. Furthermore, students were reminded to engage actively in classroom discussions, uphold academic integrity, and embody the Sundanese cultural value of *someah* (friendliness and hospitality) in campus life.
This year’s welcoming ceremony was made even more memorable by an initiative launched by the FEB Unpad 2026 PPLUS organizing committee. Each new student received a “Hope Board” (*Papan Harapan*)—a medium for them to write down their dreams, goals, and aspirations for their time at FEB Unpad.
Hundreds of these boards were soon filled with diverse, inspiring messages. Students wrote about ambitions ranging from graduating with top honors and securing overseas student exchange opportunities to building businesses that benefit society and becoming leaders in the fields of economics and finance. Many also wrote down simple yet meaningful aspirations, such as making their parents proud, finding a positive circle of friends, and growing into better individuals during their university years.
This moment symbolizes the start of a new journey for the students. Amidst the spirit and enthusiasm filling Grha Sanusi Hardjadinata, these boards of aspirations reflect the optimism of the young generation at FEB Unpad—a generation eager to keep learning, growing, and making tangible contributions to the nation.
The orientation program also featured an “Inspiring Alumni Talk Show,” showcasing FEB Unpad alumni who have established successful careers across various sectors. The speakers included Yosamarta (Deputy Representative of Bank Indonesia, DKI Jakarta Province), Tirta Prayudha (CEO of Big Alpha), Dewa Ayu Putu Nobita Angelina (SVP Institutional Sales Head at CIMB Niaga), Syahraki Sahrir (Veda Praxis), and Isa Syafa’at Ratman (Professional Sales Leader).
During the session, the alumni shared their experiences regarding the professional world, leadership, the importance of adapting to technological advancements, and the competencies students need to cultivate early on to face global challenges.
Through the 2026/2027 Academic Year orientation program, FEB Unpad hopes that all new students will successfully adapt to the academic environment, build strong networks, and develop into outstanding graduates of integrity—capable of making a positive impact on society in line with the spirit of “Leading and Inspiring.”
