Bandung, 19-20 February 2024 – Faculty of Economics and Business – Padjadjaran University (Unpad) together with Universitas Teknologi Mara (UiTM held an International Community Service activity on 19-20 February 2024 at Islamic Boarding School Firdaus PPI 259, Pangalengan. This International Community Service activity is an important part in encouraging FEB Unpad’s work to have an impact on society by involving the international community.
In order to strengthen international cooperation, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Padjadjaran University (Unpad) has collaborated with Universitas Teknologi Mara (UiTM) to organize an International Community Service Program. This event opened with remarks from Prof. Maman Setiawan, S.E., M.T., Ph.D., Deputy Dean for Learning, Student Affairs and Research, FEB Unpad, who emphasized the importance of this international community service program as a concrete manifestation of the contribution of the academic community. Dr. Zahariah from UiTM and Ustad Latief Awaludin, Leader of the Islamic Boarding School, also gave speeches which marked the Islamic boarding school’s willingness to collaborate with Unpad and open opportunities for further collaboration.
This event was attended by team members from both institutions, including Dr. Arie Pratama, S.E, M.Ak. (Research and Cooperation Manager FEB Unpad), Cupian, S.E., M.T., Ph.D. (Chair of the Islamic Economics Study Program), and Dr. Amelia Hayati, S.Sc., M.T., M.Si. (Chair of the Center for Islamic Economics and Business Studies). From UiTM, Dr. Hasni Abdullah, Dr. Balkis Haris, and Mrs. Norsaliza Abu Bakar. Several lecturers from FEB Unpad also participated, including Dr. Uus, Mr Rifqi, Mr Ahmad Luqman, Mrs Fauziah, Mrs Tarada, Mrs Kanti and Mrs Indri.
In this activity, the UiTM and Unpad teams collaborated to provide a series of educational and entertaining events for Islamic boarding school children. The UiTM team delivered material on financial literacy to more than 50 Islamic boarding school students who showed enthusiasm and active participation. Apart from delivering material, this event also presented a special educational game for children, namely the snakes and ladders game with the theme of financial literacy, where the five groups who managed to complete the challenge the fastest were given prizes.
The international community service activity between FEB Padjadjaran University and Universitas Teknologi Mara (UiTM) is not only a meeting of two academic institutions, but also a symbol of hope and aspirations for a brighter future. The hopes of this activity include: Increasing Financial Literacy: By providing material on financial literacy, this activity is expected to improve Islamic boarding school students’ financial understanding and skills, so that they can make better financial decisions in the future. Cultural and Knowledge Exchange: Through interaction between Islamic boarding school students and international teams, it is hoped that cultural and knowledge exchange will occur that will enrich the experience of both parties. Sustainable Collaboration: This activity is expected to be the first step for long-term collaboration between Islamic boarding schools, FEB Unpad, and UiTM in various fields, including education and community service. Community Empowerment: By involving the international community, this activity aims to empower the community around the Islamic boarding school through education and social initiatives. Inspiration for the Young Generation: This activity is expected to inspire Islamic boarding school students to become future leaders who have global insight and are committed to community development.
This activity is a concrete step in realizing the global vision of FEB Unpad and UiTM, and shows the commitment of both universities in advancing education and community service. With this hope, both institutions are committed to continuing to innovate and collaborate in creating a sustainable positive impact, while providing a positive impact on society through the exchange of knowledge and culture.
