The Master of Management (MM) Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Padjadjaran University (FEB Unpad), in collaboration with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), held a Design Thinking Workshop entitled “Design Thinking for Capstone Project: Driving Agility and Impact in BPKP Projects” on July 24–25, 2026, at the Unpad Campus, Jakarta, Plaza Mutiara, 10th Floor.
This activity was part of the initial phase of preparation for students in the Master of Management Study Program, FEB Unpad, in the collaboration class with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), who are currently preparing their Capstone Projects as their final assignments. Participants were required to be adaptive, innovative, and able to generate impactful solutions amidst the complexities of governance.
The workshop was officially opened by Dr. Rita Komaladewi, Head of the Master of Management Study Program, FEB Unpad. In his remarks, he emphasized this activity as a crucial part of equipping students with the right framework for developing applicable and impactful Capstone Projects.
The workshop was designed in two main sessions. The first session, led by Dr. Mery Citra Sondari, presented “Design Thinking Application for Capstone Projects.” This session aimed to refresh and deepen understanding of Design Thinking as a framework that helps participants formulate problems and design solutions for their Capstone Projects.
The second session, led by Irsyad Kamal, SE., MBA, presented the topic “Enrichment,” using simulation and game methods, as a further exploration of the material presented in the first session.
The learning methods used in this workshop included interactive lecturing (20%), hands-on studio/simulation/games (50%), and group discussion and peer feedback (30%). This combination of methods was designed to ensure that participants not only received theoretical material but also directly practiced and discussed it collaboratively.
The workshop featured faculty from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Padjadjaran University (Unpad) as speakers and facilitators, guiding participants in understanding and applying the five stages of Design Thinking—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test—as a problem-solving methodology based on a human-centered approach. Through this approach, participants are expected to be able to formulate problems accurately from a user perspective, identify innovation opportunities, develop creative solutions that are feasible to implement, and validate these solutions to produce innovations that have added value, relevance, and potential for sustainability.
This activity also emphasized the role of the Unpad Jakarta Campus as a strategic hub for postgraduate education, bridging the academic world with professional needs, with a real focus on government agencies, particularly in developing innovation-based leadership capacity.
Through this collaboration, the Master of Management Program at FEB Unpad hopes to continue to provide learning programs that are relevant, applicable, and provide real added value—both for students and partner institutions such as the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
