On February 21, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and Padjadjaran University (UNPAD) in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam which marked the start of Academic and Research Collaboration between the two universities.
Present at the MoU signing ceremony was a delegation from UNPAD consisting of: Prof. Nunuy Nur Afiah – Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Prof. Maman Setiawan – Deputy Dean for Learning, Student Affairs, and Research, Dr. Kurniawan Saefullah – Deputy Dean for Resources and Organization, Prof. Yudi Azis – Head of the Management Science Doctoral Program, managers, lecturers, and doctoral candidates from UNPAD.
While representatives from UEH include: Dinh Cong Khai – Vice President of UEH; Dr. Pham Duong Phuong Thao – Deputy Head of the Department of Research Management and International Cooperation; Dean and Head of Administration of the College of Business – COB, Dean and Head of Administration of the College of Economics, Law and Government – CELG; and the Dean of the School of Foreign Languages (UEH).
In his remarks, Prof. Nunuy Nur Afiah – Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business UNPAD, stated, “UNPAD and UEH have the same vision in improving education and research programs. Therefore, we look forward to holding joint activities in the future, such as joint conferences, student exchanges and lecturer, visiting professor, or even post-doctoral fellow. I really believe that we have the same intention to move forward together, and by committing to this collaboration, hopefully we can gain an international reputation together.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai stated: “UEH’s goal is to become a leading multidisciplinary and sustainable university for high-quality academic training, research and consulting in the fields of economics, finance, business, management and technology in Vietnam, Southeast Asia and Asia. Therefore In addition, strengthening international partnerships with our leading partners has been a key focus for the past few years. This has resulted in the agreement between UEH and UNPAD in signing an MOU for academic and research collaboration which embodies a strong partnership that we believe will create tremendous value. normal for both parties and opens up extraordinary opportunities for UEH and Padjadjaran University.”
Through this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), UEH and UNPAD will collaborate in various academic activities, including:
Develop higher education programs, including degree and non-degree programs; Conduct research collaborations in various fields; Exchange of academic materials; Exchange of students and lecturers in the context of educational development; and Organizing and sponsoring seminars, workshops, and other academic gatherings.
The event also signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Faculty of Economics and Business UNPAD and the School of Banking and School of Accounting from the School of Business (UEH), and the School of Economics from the College of Economics, Law and Government (UEH) to promote activities student exchange (summer program and regular semester), developing joint academic programs, providing scholarships for masters and doctoral levels between the two universities, as well as opening internship opportunities to provide positive experiences for students.
