The Faculty of Economics and Business, Padjadjaran University (FEB Unpad) strives to improve students’ financial literacy by holding the Infobank Financial Literacy Roadshow 2025 with Tugu Insurance with the theme “Wise Financial Management, Peace of Mind in the Future.” Held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in the FEB Unpad Theater Room in Jatinangor, this event provides a learning environment that broadens students’ horizons regarding financial management, risk recognition, and preparedness for facing financial complexities in the digital age.
In his remarks, the Manager of Research and Cooperation at FEB Unpad, Prof. Dr. Sofik Handoyo, SE., MSBS., highlighted the increasing exposure of students to consumerism amidst increasingly massive technological developments. He explained that easy access to digital shopping and financial services makes students vulnerable to making uninformed financial decisions.
Through this activity, FEB Unpad hopes that students will be able to control impulsive spending patterns and develop healthy financial habits to avoid potential problems in the future. This understanding was reinforced by a presentation by Infobank Digital Director Apriyani Kurniasih, who emphasized that financial literacy is not only about the technical ability to manage money, but also about mindset and attitude toward risk.
Students were encouraged to recognize the importance of emergency funds, understand risk profiles, and learn about financial products before deciding to invest. Apriyani also reminded them that today’s younger generation faces new challenges, such as the phenomenon of doom spending, excessive use of paylater cards, and a fascination with trending investments without adequate research.
This understanding of risk was further deepened by Fitri Azwar, Director of Finance and Corporate Services at Tugu Insurance, who explained that risk is an inseparable part of life.
She explained that some risks can be avoided, but others need to be transferred through insurance mechanisms to prevent significant losses. Fitri also emphasized Tugu Insurance’s commitment to supporting financial education and literacy through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, one of which is realized through this activity.
The talk show featured Sulwani Husna Afrizal, a lecturer from the Management Department of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Padjadjaran University (FEB Unpad), as moderator, and Meinanda Kurniawan, SE, MBuss (Res), Ph.D., Manager of Learning, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs, who is also a financial planner, as one of the speakers. Meinanda provided insights into the opportunities and challenges of financial literacy for students in the digital age.
She emphasized that although access to financial products is increasingly open, digital risks such as fraud, illegal online loans, and consumer behavior driven by lifestyle pressures are also increasing. Therefore, students need to build financial skills along with digital awareness to avoid making detrimental decisions. Closing the series of activities, Ramanda Melati L.P. Hasibuan, Human Capital Management Group Head of Tugu Insurance, shared her experience on the importance of building personal capacity from college. She emphasized that developing EQ, IQ, and organizational experience are key assets for achieving future career readiness.
This message was enthusiastically received by participants, who then participated in a Kahoot app game as an interactive evaluation of the material learned throughout the event. Through this collaboration, FEB Unpad equips students not only with academic knowledge but also with practical competencies relevant to current needs. Strengthening financial literacy is part of the effort to shape a wise, resilient young generation ready to face the challenges of the digital economy.
