Celebrating 67 Years of Journey: Maintaining the Spirit of "Leading and Inspiring" Among the Academic Community of FEB Unpad
[ Dipatiukur and Jatinangor Campuses, December 2024 ] – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Padjadjaran University (Unpad) marks the monumental milestone of 67 years of its journey in 2024 with a celebration in line with previous years in the form of a series of interesting and meaningful events involving the entire FEB Unpad academic community. These events are held to synergize the dynamic FEB academic community, including lecturers, current students, alumni, education staff, retirees and their families.
The theme of the 67th anniversary is “Grateful for the Path to Happiness”, as a reflection of the various achievements that have been achieved by FEB Unpad while still carrying the spirit of “Leading and Inspiring”. FEB Unpad is committed to continuing to strengthen its role as a pioneer and inspiration in the world of economic and business education.
The excitement of the celebration which included academic and social activities began with a competitive event, namely Padjdajapong (Table Tennis Tournament) and continued with Padjadjalan (Community Walk), which was an event to show sportsmanship and encourage a healthy lifestyle through sports. In addition, the FEB Bersyukur and Berbagi event was held, where the FEB Unpad community received a spiritual touch through a sermon delivered by Ustadz Budi Prayitno. His message emphasized the importance of gratitude as the main key to achieving true happiness. Gratitude is not only about being grateful for the blessings that are visible, but also about accepting every test and challenge in life with a positive soul and mind so that you can remain calm even in times of difficulty. At the end of the sermon, a symbolic donation was given to several students in need, Cleaning Staff and the poor. The peak of the FEB Anniversary celebration was the Scientific Oration which was held on December 4, 2024 at Bale Sawala, Jatinangor. This event featured prominent speakers including Lucky Alfirman, ST., MA, Ph.D. Director General of Fiscal Balance of the Republic of Indonesia and Prof. Erlane K. Ghani Adjunct Professor FEB Unpad and UiTM Malaysia Faculty of Accountancy Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia (UiTM). In his speech, Prof. Dr. Widya Setiabudi Sumadinata (Vice Chancellor for Resources and Governance Unpad) praised the outstanding achievements of FEB Unpad, noting its important role as a pillar of Unpad’s success. He highlighted the Faculty’s international recognition, the impactful contributions of its alumni in the business, government, and social sectors, and its top rankings at the national and international levels.
“We are very proud of the outstanding achievements of the Faculty of Economics and Business over the years,” said Prof. Setiabudi. “FEB Unpad has not only been the backbone of Unpad’s achievements, but has also been a key player in advancing Indonesia’s global competitiveness. We are grateful for all the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and students.”
In his opening speech, Prof. Nunuy Nur Afiah, Dean of FEB Unpad, shared a bold vision for the future. “As we face Indonesia’s golden era in 2045, we have a vital role to play in shaping the future of the nation,” said Prof. Nunuy. “At FEB Unpad, we are committed to innovating in our curriculum, research, and community service efforts to ensure that our graduates are not only competent but also ethical, responsible, and capable of becoming agents of change in society.”
The session also included a thought-provoking discussion from Luky Alfirman, Ph.D. who spoke about Indonesia’s potential to achieve Visi Indonesia 2045 (Vision Indonesia 2045). He emphasized the importance of infrastructure readiness, human resource development, sustainable resource management, and technological advancement to realize Indonesia’s aspirations as a leading global economy.
Prof. Erlane K. Ghani concluded the scientific oration event by discussing the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in the accounting profession, emphasizing ASEAN’s potential to modernize its financial and business sectors in a sustainable and ethical manner.
The celebration of FEB Unpad’s 67th Anniversary ended with the FEB Day activity held on December 7, 2024 at Taman LEAD FEB Unpad, Jatinangor. This lively event presented a series of activities participated by the entire academic community of FEB Unpad, such as the Coloring Competition (PadjadjaDrawing), Singing Competition (PadjadjaSing), and Cooking Competition (PadjadjaCook). This activity not only showcased talent but also fostered a sense of unity and a warm atmosphere of joy among the participants.
At this event, the prestigious award from the Faculty, namely the FEB Awards, was officially given to the community members who have made extraordinary contributions to FEB Unpad over the past year. The awarding moment was also interspersed with the distribution of door prizes which increased the enthusiasm of the participants.

• Robby Djohan Award (Star Alumni) – Dr. Ferry Joko Juliantono

In his speech, Dr. Ferry Joko Juliantono, recipient of the Robby Djohan Award, expressed his gratitude for the recognition. “This award is a tremendous honor, and I will continue to uphold this recognition through greater dedication and achievement, always striving to bring pride to FEB Unpad,” he said. With the spirit of “Leading and Inspiring”, this 67th Dies Natalis is expected to be a moment of reflection as well as encouragement to continue to innovate in advancing education, contributing to the wider community, and being dedicated to continuing to inspire, both nationally and internationally.
